To appropriately extend Emrich’s metaphor of western settlement and commodification, the artist has included a background image of Jackson’s defining documentary achievement and 19 th century symbol of Manifest Destiny, Mount of the Holy Cross.Įmrich is a Colorado-based artist whose work has been exhibited for over 30 years and is in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the University of Colorado Art Museum, and the Denver Art Museum, along with numerous other public and private collections.
